Not OP, but I do have an LXC desktop running, mostly to experiment with. I've seen posts claiming that it should be possible to share GPU resources amongst multiple LXCs, which is something you can't do with VMs (excepting ones with vGPU capability, which are very expensive and relatively hard to get).
